WELCOME!

I am  a London-based watercolour artist and furniture upcycler with a personal interest in borders (the map and international kind specifically, but who doesn't love the herbaceous variety?)  I undertake commissions that combine different places in the world to create a 'one world' scene that highlights harmony and pattern over polarisation and conflict. This may be a response to where 'home' is, or may be a combination of your most cherished places in the world.

I also makes cork map photo boards to collate your favourite travel life and home life memories .

Everything is bespoke, and hand-made from the lounge table! Prints of anything are also made to order.

I am also a qualified secondary school English and Drama teacher and offer online tutoring from project base work infusing and confusing English and Art at Upper Key Stage 2 and 3, and GCSE and A-Level English and English Literature tuition. This is offered for both individuals and small groups of up to 6 students maximum.

WORLD MASHUPS:- THE 'NO BORDER COLLECTION'

Over the Bridge

If you have been fortunate enough to see the world a little bit, or a lot - to travel, culture, atmosphere, people and the sensory experience that accompanies it, you may conjure those memories of your favourite places and 'wish you were there'.

We aren't yet ready to teleport physically, but until then, an original watercolour combining your favourite landscapes can fill a magnolia space on your wall.

These are deeply personal pieces and are perfect as a gift to your own travel memories, or perhaps you would like to rebel from the assigned 'wedding list' (replace wedding with any other monumental event...or even just because) for a truly meaningful gift

Simply let me know your two or three favourite destinations on our lovely planet!

HOUSE PORTRAITS

Maybe you are moving house and would like a keepsake of your previous home, or maybe you would simply like a painting of your home from the outside, hanging up on the inside?

I like to create optimum colour for a really bright interpretation of your home, or even change the colours completely - who wouldn't want to live in a rainbow house!

Once again, these are lovely, compact and deeply personal gifts. I am building up my portfolio so do feel free to click and check out my other simple house portraits.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME

rina house.jpeg

The largest category of all my collections. Why? Because it is about home. Not about 'your house'. I know that for myself, home represents a few geographical locations - and that is a nice feeling.

I'd love to wake up one morning in my house, in London, and look out to where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic in Tarifa, Spain. But short of that, there is always art!

Maybe it is just one location you would like depicted: a park, a place where you find peace, a mashup of your local area. We are all totally unique, so your painting will be too.

PIMPED UP-CYCLING

africaspain1.jpg

We spend too long scrolling away on our phones looking at photos. It's a simple fact. I find that many of my photos get lost in the sheer quantity.

Perhaps you have a coffee table that is a little unloved, or a sad little space on a wall that needs a little, for want of a better phrase, 'pimping up'.

Using cork and colour, I create maps of your favourite places - or even the whole world, where you can pin your favourite photos. That way you can see them every day and screen time can be saved for the important stuff like...er...facebook.

Please note that there is literally nothing to scale about these maps. They are bright, cheerful ways of mapping your memories with a pin and a smile. You can change the photos every day if you like!

DIASPORA

"When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind."

African Proverb

Just as Caucasia and Gondwana Land have shifted over millions of years, so have we. We are meant to move. We are meant to settle and resettle. We are meant to accrue generational knowledge of the world, assimilating cultures, traditions and languages. How do we otherwise progress ?

Groups with a shared strand of history, religion and often oppression and persecution form various diasporas that enrich and enlighten the countries they now call home. Not everyone appreciates the human tapestry, which is at best a woefully missed opportunity to learn and broaden the mind.
